Intipalka
Initpalka is 1 van de weinige wijnmerken in Peru die wijn exporteert, en misschien momenteel wel de enige.
“INTIPALKA” means “VALLEY OF THE SUN” in Quechua, the language used by the ancient Inca Empire. The name refers to the valley of ICA, where our wines and piscos are produced, which has been known since the Inca times as a remarkable agricultural land because of its exceptional soil and weather conditions.
The ICA valley has a unique microclimate, which simulates the ideal climate of the best wine regions around the world making it the most promising wine producing region outside the normal climate zones tipically associated with wine. The climates consists of ample amounts of sunlight during the day for sugar production and cold nights for acidity. This combination gives the grapes a very balanced sugar and acidic content ideal for winemaking.
ICA is located at the foothills of the Andes Mountains 1,650 feet above sea level and more than 31 miles from the coast. It has deep sandy soil that allows the grapevines to be “stressed” and produce grapes with high concentration of flavors and intense color. The soil in combination with a drip irrigation system gives the grapes used to make Intipalka wine an extraordinary concentration of flavors.
The grapes are hand-harvested to select only the best grapes. This is only example of the level of care that is used in every step of every process to create a fine balance for a fine wine. It a through passion and ambition that this incredible wine is brought to you.
